What is Paint Protection Film?

Paint protection film is an optically clear film, produced using Polyurethane instead of PVC like a normal vinyl film.

The PU base gives the film a much more durable nature. This allows the film to absorb contact from small impacts like stones and light scratches, as well as road grime, bug damage and most other contaminants. Our PPF also has a self-healing ability, meaning that any light scratching or scuffs can be repaired by simply running a heat gun or boiling water over the area.

Our preferred brand of PPF here is Suntek. We offer this film in Ultra Gloss, Satin/Matte, and Reaction Gloss. Reaction Gloss is the latest film to market, which carries a 12yr life expectancy and has a ceramic coating incorporated into the film itself - we believe this to be the very best film available.

Not only does PPF protect your paintwork from physical damage, it can also aid with UV protection if you require - prolonging your paintworks lifetime and keeping it nice and glossy underneath.

Here at The SignLab, all of our PPF work is done in house customised to suit your particular vehicle. We offer our PPF installation in both bulk application, as well as CAD cut template application. Generally, we like to marry the two techniques, offering the best finish possible with no unsightly mis-alignments or exposed edges. All panels are wrapped and tucked around the edges where possible.

We offer multiple PPF ‘kits’ which are a great solution for getting the most for your dollar. The most commonly affected areas of vehicles by stonechips are front bumpers, headlights & fog-lights, sill panels, and bonnets. We also commonly apply PPF to door edges to stop minor carparking damage, luggage strips (top of the rear bumper) to stop items being dragged across the paintwork, and door handle cups to protect from rings when opening the doors.

We have however fully wrapped vehicles in the past for the ultimate protection. The film is optically clear, so nobody will know it's there unless you tell them!

Paint Protection Film (PPF), is a great option to protect your vehicle from physical and UV damage.
